On the evening of November 7 the audience at the 400 seat Ramo Auditorium at the prestigious California Institute of Technology was treated to a piece of history, witnessing the world premiere of George Morgan’s new play ROCKET GIRL.

Set during the Cold War of 1957-1958, ROCKET GIRL tells the true story of Mary Sherman, America’s first female rocket scientist, and her crucial contribution to putting America’s first satellite, Explorer I, into orbit.

This heretofore untold story pulls the curtain back on the behind-the-scenes battles to catch up to Russia’s lead in the international space race.

Comments from the audience were passionate in their enthusiasm.

“Please put it on again – I want to bring my family.”

“Every parent should take their daughters to see this.”

“I laughed. I cried. It was wonderful.”

“You didn’t have to be a rocket scientist to understand it – lucky for me.”

“One of the best plays I have ever seen."
