On
the evening of November 7, the audience at the 400 seat Ramo Auditorium
at the prestigious California Institute of Technology was treated
to a piece of history, witnessing the world premiere of George Morgans
new play ROCKET GIRL.
Set
during the Cold War of 1957-1958, ROCKET GIRL tells the true story
of Mary Sherman, Americas first female rocket scientist, and
her crucial contribution to putting Americas first satellite,
Explorer I, into orbit.
This
heretofore untold story pulls the curtain back on the behind-the-scenes
battles to catch up to Russias lead in the international space
race.
